The OPTS Secretariat on the 25th and 26th of November, 2020 organized a 2-day virtual workshop which brought the P&S, FSS, Legal, Tax, and Gas Subcommittee together to work on a clause by clause review of the PIB memo for submission to the House Upstream Petroleum Resources Committee.
The aim of the workshop was to develop a clause-by-clause review of the PIB. The Subcommittees, who were fully engaged, committed to upwards of 7hrs per day to the review of the Bill identifying alternate considerations to some of the clauses in the PIB.
The outcome was a detailed and comprehensive document outlining justifications, concerns, and recommendations.
The Government Relations & Public Affairs (GR&PA) Subcommittee together with the P&S Subcommittee also met to collaborate on the PIB engagement strategy for effective advocacy.
