As part of the OPTS Executive Committee’s recognition of outgoing Subcommittee leads efforts, the OPTS Chairman, Mike Sangster held an appreciation cocktail in their honour on the 9th of July, 2021 at his residence.
The event was attended by the OPTS Vice Chairman, Rick Kennedy, Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria, Osagie Okunbor, the outgoing leads, their spouses and other guests. They were entertained by the Patoki band and the leads were presented with plaques by the OPTS Chairman accompanied by the Executive Director, OPTS Bunmi Toyobo.
In his speech, the Mike noted that OPTS subcommittees graciously play their part in the background, with member company representatives providing invaluable insight and perspectives which help shape and drive OPTS advocacy. He acknowledged that despite the challenges faced in the last year, OPTS advocacy did not relent and the subcommittees continued to work tirelessly to address key industry issues, even with the demands of their day jobs. Osagie Okunbor and Rick Kennedy echoed Mike’s sentiments thanking the outgoing leads for their advocacy efforts.
The evening ended on a high note with the guests and outgoing leads dancing well into the night to melodious Hi-Life tunes from the live band.
