We are pleased to announce the creation of a Medical Subcommittee in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and need to create structure around the vaccine roll out for the industry.
To provide some context around the creation of the Subcommittee, OPTS formed an ad hoc Medical Subcommittee during the Ebola crisis to support the Government’s efforts in managing the crisis and another one was formed in 2020 to support the provision of infrastructure, medical and logistic support, in partnership with NNPC to manage the pandemic.
With the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccines, this Subcommittee will provide support for the process of vaccinating all the upstream oil and gas workers.
The newly created OPTS Medical Subcommittee is led by Dr Effiem Abbah of Exxonmobil.
