The OPTS Chairman and Vice Chairman, Rick Kennedy, Chevron MD, supported by the ED OPTS, Bunmi Toyobo paid virtual courtesy visits to Dr. Ladi Bada, MD Shoreline Natural Resources and Mr. Victor Sodje, MD Newcross Exploration & Production Ltd.

The purpose of the visits was for OPTS to familiarize itself with its members, encourage indigenous company participation in OPTS, discuss industry issues and exchange ideas on how OPTS can better support indigenous companies going forward.

The visits have also given opportunities to update the Companies on the recent happenings in OPTS with particular reference to the PIB and other prevalent issues within the industry. A pertinent issue raised during one of the visits was the threat of value erosion for operators on the Nembe Creek Terminal Line (NCTL).  Rick Kennedy acknowledged crude theft was a big issue adding that the OPTS Chairman had recently engaged security forces on the issue.  He stated that he would continue to encourage the security Subcommittee to find solutions to this issue.
